Sarkodie (born Michael Owusu Addo; 10 July 1988),[2] is a Ghanaian recording artist, entertainer, brand ambassador and a BET Awards 2012 Best International Act winner.[3] He is also referred to as Obidi Pon Bidi. Many Ghanaian people recognize him as a leading Hip hop and Hip Life artist. He is considered a major proponent of the Azonto genre and dance. Sarkodie was born on 10 July 1988 to his mother, Emma Maame Aggrey, a single parent and raised in Tema, being the fourth out of five children.[
